Do you have any traditions this time of year? Either with family, friends, work colleagues, or the residents and clients at your organisation? Welcome to Mirus Mistletoe Magic #mirusmistletoemagic where our team is sharing their own traditions…
To kick off this series, Malavika shared her holiday tradition which is one full of adventure.
Malavika explains that each year, during the holiday season, her family would go and visit an uncle’s cottage located in the mountains which is situated right near a beautiful dam.
Malavika would use these trips during the holiday season to spend time with family and they would all immerse themselves in nature. The cottage is surrounded by the forest and the sounds of a waterfall in the distance with breathtaking views. Some of these views include sightings of monkeys, deer, and sometimes even baby elephants!
Other holiday traditions include stargazing, starting up a fire to roast chicken, and nights for singing and dancing, as well as just exploring their beautiful surroundings.
One of Malavika’s most memorable moments from this holiday tradition was when she would explore the forest, normally on the last night of their stay and her uncles cottage;
‘On the last night, we explore the silent forest. I have never understood the need to explore a wild forest, but the adrenaline rush makes it worth it’.
