“Growing a mo’ is a way to show camaraderie with other bros” – Ty Fisher
“Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends are facing a health crisis, yet it’s rarely talked about. Men are dying too young. We can’t afford to stay silent.” – Movember
Hey Ty why are you involved with this campaign and why is it important to talk about men’s physical or mental health?
I think Movember is a great fundraiser, obviously supporting an important cause is worthwhile, but growing a mo’ is a way to show camaraderie with other bros, and in some small way break down the stigma surrounding men’s health. Of course, anyone facing a health crisis can struggle with feelings of social disapproval, so anyone can participate in Movember to show they stand for a society that supports those who are reluctant to seek help, not ignore them.
Have any cool tips for growing a mo?
My number one tip for growing a mo is to keep it nice and even, don’t let a couple of flyaways hog the show.
Prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention – Movember is taking them all on. Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
