Is your workforce ready for the holidays?

December 2, 2020 | Workforce Management

Aged care doesn’t stop and it’s a 365 days and 24/7 hours service for older Australians.

It doesn’t close down at night, on the weekends and certainly not for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In fact, even more people may be required during this time – all that extra planning for catering, cleaning, activities and visits.

And we all know that we need to consider Covid-19 and ensuring we keep our residents, staff and their families safe.

The Federal government has imposed strict restrictions on aged care and Queensland state government for example has imposed a “Covid Safe festive season” in residential aged care.

Whilst you need your employees more than ever during this time, your employees, however, may be counting down the days and excited to celebrate this tradition with their loved ones.

After all, how often can we use festivities as an excuse to eat all we want and take regular naps!

Hence we know from working with our clients that annual leave applications are on the fly!

How are you planning and tracking amidst this potential chaos?

An added level of complexity will depend on the situation of Covid. To ease this complexity for roster administrators and facility managers, you need a rostering system that supports planning and information that makes decision making transparent, equitable and arguably most importantly, compliant!

Relying on paper based or technology tools that lacks reporting, flexibility and real time indicators will not only hinder the process but potentially leaves room for human error.

At the end of the day, we think roster administrators and facility managers also deserve a peaceful Christmas and a New Years break.
