Climbing any summits?

“There is no end to learning,” says Sara Golding, Workforce Senior Manager at Mirus Australia.

“Seeing how young people learn new technology reminds us how important it is to keep in touch and the realisation that we are never ‘done’ when it comes to learning new software, improving your skills and improving your own capabilities.”

As a mother of two young adults, Sara has witnessed first hand the attitude required for innovation. She brings to her professional career what she observes at home, including the agility and constant focus on improvement.

Sara is also a co-parent of Mirus Works! The powerful workforce management tool co-designed for the Residential Aged Care Industry and with the aged care industry.  When Sara started at Mirus Australia, 3 years ago, Mirus Works! was just an embryo or an idea. Sara has supported the growth and development including monitoring and managing the lungs and legs, arms and heart of Mirus Works!

“Seeing how our ‘baby’ directly helps people to do their job and hearing clients’ feedback is very exciting,” says Sara. “What my team and I do, is to help our clients get the right people, at the right time, in the right place, with the right skills”.

Actually, this is something Sara has been doing since she was a six-year-old Brownie Girl Guide, back in England! She was always managing her team according to their skills, so together they could accomplish the tasks required.

Sara grew up in England and moved to Australia with her family when she was fourteen years old. Sara returned to the UK with her husband and young children to live for six years.

“We were keen to have the experience of living and working abroad as a family.” Sara has never been the one to choose the easy path, in fact, her life motto is “if you want to see the view from the summit you must be prepared to climb the hill”.

Travel is still one of Sara’s passions. Although she has traveled extensively around the world, there is still a big list of desired places to visit including the Egyptian Pyramids and Machu Picchu. She loves music and is crazy about Formula 1, her special number is 3, Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 number!

Sara is continually inspired by the people in her life and who she gets to work with. Sara agrees with many, that as our communities are changing, for example, parents are working full-time, families are unable to take care of their elders as they used to, and the need to have quality care options increases. She is also a strong believer that Australia has an opportunity to become a leader around the world with the goal of #makingagedcarebetter.
