Hogwarts Hero: Random Acts of Kindness Day

February 3, 2021 | People at Mirus Australia

Each year on February 17th Random Acts of Kindness Day grows in popularity. It is celebrated by individuals, groups and organisations to encourage acts of kindness. Random Acts of Kindness inspires people every day. Not only do the acts of kindness bring joy to the receiver, but they spread positive reactions to the giver, too!

Mirus Australia presents our very own compilation of #RandomActsofKindnessDay where our team is sharing their own random acts of kindness that they received or spread…

To wrap up this series, the last experience is shared by Tom Murphy, Head of Workforce, during their 2019 travel across Europe with their then 4-month-old son Rudi.

After returning to London, they decided to visit the Harry Potter studio tour as they were massive Harry Potter fans. That was the moment when little Rudi decided to melt down.

Scream after scream, nothing was working. He wasn’t hungry, he was clean, he wouldn’t sleep. And it felt as though the whole world had stopped to stare.”, Tom recalls.

They both were about to break when a ‘hero’ appeared. A fellow parent walked over and asked, “Are you okay? Do you need anything? We have milk, nappies, food.”

They had all those things, but that simple question was enough to restore them. The feeling of knowing that they were not alone. Knowing that someone else out there had their backs was a relief.

I will never know his name, but I’ll forever remember his kindness. Thank you!”, Tom gratefully said.
