RN time down -7.80% in August, alongside declines in direct care minutes

Revenue
The industry’s Average Daily Subsidy (ADS) remained flat in August, finishing at $269.95. Total claiming activity jumped from 7.33% in July to 8.79% in August, an increase of 1.45%, which can be attributed to an uptick in new assessments.
Occupancy
Occupied bed days experienced a slight uptick of 0.30%, settling in at 88.59%. New permanent admissions increased by 4.5% in August, while respite bed day usage saw a significant rise of 16.12%.
Workforce management
With less than two weeks before the care minute requirement increases, direct care minutes across the industry dropped by -1.38% to 203.13. RN minutes saw a significant decline of -7.80%, dropping below the current 40 minute requirement to 37.62 minutes per resident per day.
