Our story
Founded in 2010, Mirus Australia was created with a clear purpose: making aged care better.
The name Mirus, Latin for extraordinary, reflects a belief that aged care can be delivered better.
Mirus Australia partners with aged care providers across Australia to improve financial sustainability, workforce effectiveness and care outcomes, combining advisory expertise with technology and data to support confident decision-making. Under the leadership of founder Robert Covino, it has grown into one of Australia’s most trusted aged care technology and insights partners, supporting providers through major industry change.
In 2025, Mirus Australia expanded its platform through the acquisition of ManAd (Management Advantage), bringing together complementary expertise in aged care. Founded in 1992 by Ruth Staples and later joined by Peter Staples, former Federal Minister for Aged Care, ManAd added decades of care management expertise and the ManAd Plus platform.
Today, Mirus Australia brings together technology, consulting and data to support aged care providers, with MirusPlus connecting core operations in a single ecosystem that improves visibility and control, reduces complexity and helps providers return valuable time to care.

Robert Covino founded Mirus Australia in 2010 as a specialist aged care consultancy and leads the business as Founder and Chairman. Under his leadership, Mirus has grown into a technology, data and advisory partner for aged care providers across Australia.
Mirus is a Latin word meaning wonderful, extraordinary or astonishing. The name reflects our belief that aged care can be delivered better, which is also our purpose: making aged care better.
Mirus Australia is led by Founder and Chairman Robert Covino, with a leadership team covering operations, product, technology, data, clinical services, client success, business development and marketing. It includes Hengki Widjaja (Chief Operating Officer), Ben Sturzaker (General Manager, Product), Luke Coe (General Manager, Technology) and Bojana Sokolovic (Head of Clinical Services).
Mirus Australia offers MirusPlus, a cloud-based platform that connects aged care operations such as admissions, care, workforce, finance and compliance; Mirus Metrics, which turns provider and government data into decisions on funding, compliance and risk; Care Minute Manager for care minute tracking and reporting; Mirus Works for rostering; and free Mirus Benchmarking.
Mirus Australia acquired Management Advantage (Manad) in 2025. Manad was founded in 1992 by Ruth Staples, later joined by Peter Staples, former Federal Minister for Aged Care, and developed the Manad Plus care management system. MirusPlus is its successor, rebuilt from the ground up as a cloud-based platform.
