Stephen Rowan

Head of Business Development

Since joining Mirus Australia in 2014, Steve has played a key role in supporting aged care providers through significant funding and regulatory reform, particularly in the transition to the AN-ACC funding model. Beginning in project delivery, he worked closely with clients on AN-ACC funding optimisation, compliance and operational alignment. As he progressed into senior management, Steve led the Client Delivery team through the industry-wide shift to AN-ACC — overseeing the retraining of staff across all Mirus tools and ensuring clients were confidently supported during a complex and critical period of change.

More recently, Steve has worked closely with regional providers on major capital grant applications, supporting submissions that secured tens of millions of dollars in funding. These projects strengthened infrastructure and long-term service delivery across regional and remote communities, further deepening his understanding of the strategic and financial challenges facing the sector.

Originally commencing his career in Sport and Exercise, Steve quickly found his professional home in aged care and remains deeply passionate about the industry’s purpose and impact. Having visited aged care homes in every state across Australia, he brings a practical on-the-ground appreciation of operational, clinical and governance realities.

Having now transitioned into a business development role, Steve enjoys connecting with providers, understanding their strategic priorities and demonstrating how Mirus solutions can support sustainable performance. He is driven by helping organisations strengthen long-term sustainability — aligning funding, care delivery, workforce management, governance and operational strategy to support high-quality outcomes, regulatory confidence and enduring organisational performance.
