AN-ACC claims drop by nearly -6.5%

Revenue
The industry ADS fell -0.15 cents in April to $268.13. However, the MMM=5 facility type saw an increase of 0.75 cents breaking through the $280 ADS threshold.
Total claiming activity fell -0.25% in April. The slowdown in claiming activity, combined with a segment of AN-ACC claiming anniversary dates, resulted in a nearly -6.5% decline in the total percentage of claims now aged older than 12 months.
Occupancy
Occupied bed days decreased by -0.06% to 88.65%. Short-term stays also declined slightly by -0.09% to 22.90%. However, respite usage rates have been trending upwards.
Workforce management
Total direct care minutes remained steady, and saw a slight increase of 0.17% in April, reaching 203.97 minutes. RN minutes are trending flat, consistent with last month’s figures at 39.77 minutes.
