The Aged Care Effectiveness Index, Edition 2

In October 2024 we published the first edition of the Aged Care Effectiveness Index: a rating of the sector's performance across four pillars, financial sustainability, quality, resourcing and consumer experience, built by the sector, for the sector. More than five hundred of you registered, scored the industry, and shaped what the index measures.

Edition 2 covers the period that changed everything. The new Aged Care Act commenced, the strengthened Quality Standards took effect, consumer contributions began flowing through, and care funding was linked to care minute delivery for the first time. This edition reads the full arc, from the October 2024 baseline to the end of FY26, the first complete financial year of the reformed system.

In this webinar we will preview the findings before publication, including:

• The FY26 scores across all four pillars, and how each has moved against the 2024 baseline
• The headline of this edition: the two pillars that have swapped places, and what that inversion means for your organisation
• What the sector's own lodged QFR data reveals that the published national datasets cannot yet show, drawn from a benchmarking cohort now covering 296 homes, around one home in eight nationally

Your collective ratings will be published in Edition 2 alongside our data-driven scores, giving the sector the first year-on-year read of its own view of itself.
