93.12% - National occupancy, highest since May 2017 and the fourth consecutive monthly increase
$604,919 - Average advertised room price, first time the sector has exceeded $600,000

Revenue
Average Daily Subsidy decreased by $0.05 in May, consistent with the backdating effect of reassessment requests, and is expected to recover through June and July as uplifts are actioned. The decline in ADS will likely reverse to a gain as reassessment requests made in May are actioned throughout June and into July. Claiming was relatively flat throughout most of 2025, however from November claims have increased, adding 1.4 minutes to average casemix, now sitting at just over 216 minutes PRPD.
Occupancy
May 2026 data shows occupancy reaching 93.12%, the highest level recorded since May 2017 and the fourth consecutive monthly increase, while average advertised room prices crossed $600,000 for the first time on record. The weighted average advertised room price increased 0.87% to $604,919, moving north of the $600k threshold for the first time. Incremental increases in room pricing are likely to continue for the foreseeable future as occupancy grows along with evidence that consumers are willing to pay what providers ask in order to recover their costs.
Workforce
Total care time and RN time decreased from April to May, with total time decreasing by -0.56% and RN time decreasing by -0.83%. Average case mix and occupancy continue to climb, which means demand is catching up to rosters that still have capacity to absorb that increasing demand.
