Changes to the Mirus AN-ACC Calculator

Since 2022, the Mirus AN-ACC Calculator has played an important role in helping the aged care sector understand and prepare for the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) funding model. At a time of significant transition, we recognised the need for a practical tool that could turn theory into something usable. The calculator was designed and delivered as a way to help providers test scenarios, build confidence, and understand how AN-ACC would work in practice.

Hundreds of providers have used the free calculator over the years, and we’re proud of the role it has played in supporting sector readiness. By making AN-ACC more tangible, the calculator has helped build capability across the industry and ensured providers could step into the new model with greater clarity.

From 1 November 2025, the free advanced version of the AN-ACC Calculator will be retired from the App and the website. A simplified version will remain available free of charge, giving providers quick and easy access to basic calculations. We’re grateful to everyone who has engaged with the advanced version over the years – your feedback, insights, and usage have helped shape the broader conversation around AN-ACC.

Why are we making this change? Simply put, providers now need more than a standalone calculator. AN-ACC is no longer a new funding model to test out, it’s an everyday operational reality that must be managed alongside care minutes, compliance, workforce planning, and financial sustainability. By retiring the free advanced calculator, we are aligning our support with the sector’s evolving requirements.
